She said those words as we sat together watching my two‑year‑old son with Down syndrome playing on the floor.

In that moment, I knew she was right. One day, I would be hoping someone would see my son’s potential and give him that same chance.

A few years later, my stepdaughter moved back home, trying to find her footing in adulthood. Like so many young people, she was wrestling with anxiety, self‑doubt, and uncertainty about her future. Traditional workplaces felt overwhelming, but her potential was unmistakable. What she needed wasn’t pressure—it was guidance, mentorship, and the space to build confidence while learning real, marketable skills.

That experience sparked an idea.
